Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 16 Day Date Automatic Chronograph exists in 3 different versions. The differences are mainly on the design and the specifications are almost the same. All of the Carrera Calibre’s 16 have automatic chronograph.

The first version is an old looking one that emphasizes on the fact that the Swiss brand is existing from more than 150 years and always was offering high quality products. It’s called “Heritage” and the basic features are 41mm automatic chronograph, 100 meters water resistance and tachymeter, also chronometer and the well know logo.

The second timepiece of Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre is with modern design. It’s representing the new generation, the modern world. There are tha common specifications as tachymeter scale, automatic chronograph movement with 41mm, date window at 3 o’clock, water resistant to 100m, monochrome Tag Heuer’s logo and the main body is from polished steel. There is choice of different straps- 2 leather straps – red and black one; 5 polished steel straps and black openwork strap.

The third version is called “Day date”. It’s also with modern design. There are 5 subdesigns- 3 with leather strap and two with polished steel. There are options between white and black bezel. The “Day date” has a little bit different specifications. The numbers are larger and have extra visibility in the dark. Also it’s easier to read the seconds. Another big advantage of “Day date” is the scratch resistant sapphire crystal that gives excellent durability no matter of the conditions.

Generally there is a large choice of options with the features and the design when deciding to buy Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 16. One thing is sure- the perfect Swiss quality will find in all of them. This brand is offering a lot of choice between specifications and design and when adding the fact that is supported by famous celebrities there’s no wonder why it has so long traditions.

Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 16 Day-Date review

Most of the reviews online are fake one as it’s easy to notice that people just write negative things about some of the specifications and most of these reviews actually look very ridiculous. I have Tag Heuer Carrera Calibre 16 and for the past 3 years have no problem at all. The only weakness of this review is that the design has changed a little bit with the time, however the most important part of the watch- the movement system is still the same one. So this exceptional watch is not too heavy as most of the reviewers said, it’s just as heavy as the other time pieces of the same class. It’s a very luxury accessory and looks classy and stylish. Furthermore it’s equipped with automatic chronograph that was invented in 1974. Same chronograph is also used by Omega; however both Swiss brands have improved since the creation.

Some believe that is a huge weakness the lack of COSC certificate but that’s actually not a problem at all. I have never heard someone to complain that his watch is running at more than -+4 seconds a day and in order to be certified it should be less than +-6 seconds. So as you see that’s not an issue.

Where to buy?
For such luxury watches that is always an issue. Normally I wouldn’t buy it from the grey market (Amazon is considered as such one). However Amazon has proven lately that there are no problems at all and even the fact that you don’t get the 2 years Tag Heuer warranty you get 2 years Amazon one. And in practice that’s better for you as if there’s a real problem they actually send you a new watch just when they received the broken one.

Another huge advantage of Amazon is the price. Normally this watch is around $5000 and even more in the authorized stores. Online the price varies around $3-4k.
